The IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard details how, in electronic manufacturing, to detect and then correct faults concerning wiring harnesses and cables. Its exact title is “Requirements and Acceptability Criteria for the Interconnection of Wire and Cable Harnesses”. This IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard has become, over time, the international reference standard for cabling in the electronics industry. Many contractors require that the manufacture of their electronic systems be monitored and controlled by quality specialists known as "CIS", i.e. IPC certified. The IPC CIS certification certifies that a person has mastered the acceptance criteria and good quality practices described in the IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard.
